As the halvening draws near and global markets collapse i am hearing more and more people talking about bitcoin, cryptocurrency, and block chain technology. It's garnered a lot of attention lately and i feel like we may be on the verge of something massive : global adoption. . Everywhere i look i see new articles about it and it's been in the financial news a lot lately as bitcoin remains stable amongst the impending disaster of traditional markets. We have Italy's oldest bank, Banca Sella launching a bitcoin trading platform for its customers. We have google trend data spiking to levels it hasn't seen in almost a year. Hell, the crappy little corner store a block away from my home now has a bitcoin ATM. It's gotten to the point now that i have boomers asking me about Bitcoin and if now is a good time to get in.
In fact, what prompted me to write this article was that i saw an article about Bitcoin on one of my favorite sports gambling websites today, Oddshark. And it wasn't just an article promoting bitcoin for gambling purposes, it was actually well written and had some substance with helpful links and guides for crypto newbies.
Then you have major events coming to pass as well like the US Federal Reserve considering issuing its own digital currency. Just two months ago the Fed's Japanese , European, and British counterparts formed a group to study the benefits of the creating a central bank digital currency. This shit is being adopted not just in one or two small spots around the globe, we are going worldwide with adoption. To top it off, the US Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin, a long-time cryptocurrency and Bitcoin skeptic, named a former chief legal officer at Coinbase, Brian Brooks, as one of the US's top banking regulators. Brooks will now serve as the Chief Operating Officer and First Deputy Comptroller of the Office of the Comptroller of Currency. I don't know exactly what all that shit is but it seems like a pretty fucking big deal. That's right ladies and gentlemen, our country is headed for a digital currency and it's gonna usher in a new era in crypto. It's been a wild ride thus far and i am glad i got on board when i did. Buckle up folks, the fun has just begun!
Thanks for reading gang and as always, feel free to drop a comment on anything i may have missed or how you guys are seeing mass adoption in your everyday lives.
